Israeli military expansion in southern Syria and raising the flag over towns in Quneitra

Southern Syria witnessed a new escalation after the Israeli army continued its advance into several towns in the Quneitra countryside, raising the Israeli flag over buildings and administrative offices and declaring these sites its territory after seizing control of them.

Military incursions are occurring almost daily in the southern provinces, where the army is working to annex new areas and establish military outposts and checkpoints within the territories it has recently seized, reflecting a consistent trend towards consolidating its presence in that region.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz toured Syrian territory last week, a move that came amid US efforts to advance negotiations aimed at reaching a security agreement between Israel and Syria.

Despite these efforts, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority and several Hebrew media outlets revealed that security agreement talks had reached a dead end, according to Israeli sources who confirmed the failure of understandings between the two sides.
