In his latest remarks on December 11, 2025, Rashad al-Alimi, head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, stressed the need to respect the agreed-upon framework for the transitional phase and to enable the legitimate government to perform its duties without hindrance. He warned against any unilateral actions that threaten stability and national unity. Al-Alimi called on the tribes of Hadramawt and al-Mahra to rally around the state's efforts, demanding a return to the previous status quo in these two governorates to avoid an escalation that would deepen the economic and humanitarian crisis.

Al-Alimi's statements accused the Southern Transitional Council of violating the terms of reference for the transitional phase through unilateral actions in eastern Yemen. He considered these actions to be undermining the government's authority and threatening the unity of security and military decision-making, thus obstructing the political process and weakening trust with international donors. He called for a unified international stance rejecting these actions and supporting the government as the sole executive authority, while renewing support for local mediation efforts to restore stability and the formation of investigative committees into the violations.

 Call for national unity

Al-Alimi stressed that the battle to restore state institutions and end the Houthi rebellion remains the priority, warning that side conflicts serve foreign agendas and exacerbate the suffering of Yemenis. He called for prioritizing the public interest and respecting the state's institutional framework. These statements come amidst military developments in Hadramawt and Al-Mahra, where Al-Alimi is working to strengthen the national partnership under the Riyadh Agreement and the declaration of the transfer of power.
